"Community" is an important term for RedLine Solutions. From the sense of common purpose and support at headquarters, to our role in local and national organizations for manufacturing and produce companies, we feel that communities are not only something from which we benefit, but are also something to which we have a responsibility to contribute.
This is one reason why Redline Solutions supports the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, the single largest nonprofit provider of food to low-income households in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties and the seventh largest food bank in the country. They provide food to an average of 176,000 individuals each month. Of those they serve, 67% are families with children, and 12% are senior citizens.
Last year, Second Harvest provided 34.6 million pounds of food to those in need. They go beyond food assistance, and also operate community nutrition programs and a multilingual toll-free hotline where callers can learn how to access the food programs in their neighborhoods. To effect real change, they work with local and national lawmakers to advocate for policy improvements, and strive to eliminate hunger and its root causes.
Recently some of the RedLine staff helped out at the San Jose Family Shelter, which is the only emergency shelter in Santa Clara County that houses families together. It’s important to keep the families together as they work to find solutions and get back on their feet. RedLine CEO Todd Baggett commented “Serving at the Family Shelter is an amazing experience! By preparing and serving the meal we feed the families bodies, by talking with the residents and encouraging them on their journey we feed their spirits.” Every day we have opportunities for small acts of kindness that enrich us as individuals, companies, and communities.
RedLine Solutions also supports many organizations in our communities, including the Second Harvest Food Bank, the San Jose Family Supportive Housing, Inc., the Family Giving Tree, the Fresno Rescue Mission, CitiTeam Ministries, and the Faith in Action Silicon Valley Rotating Shelter.
We encourage you to get involved in ending hunger in your own community.
